MY (FEMALE) ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNEY

Welcome into our lives 2018 (cue raucous applause and party poppers). What will this new year hold? Practically everything I read around this time of year is a reflection of the past 365 days with pauses for thought and calls to action for the year ahead but I think I’ve done enough internal analysing over the past year.

If anything, I’m actually an over-thinker; a debilitating, self-sabotaging condition that means there is always too much procrastinating and not enough action taking!!!

So, in light of this, I have decided to dedicate myself in virtually every waking moment to nurturing myself and my dreams of achieving my own business. One giant step I’ve taken (because they’re always giant when money is involved…) is to sign up to the Members Club of the Female Entrepreneur Association. It’s pretty risky seeing as though I don’t actually have my business idea yet but my goal this year is to find CLARITY and my plan to get there is throw myself into staying motivated, doing more of the things I love, being kind and grateful and seizing anything that looks almost remotely like an opportunity. I’m already listening to the She Means Business podcasts (by Carrie Green, founder of the Female Entrepreneurial Association) and working my way through a host of training ‘bundles’ on the F.E.A website.

Most entrepreneurial journeys start out with a destination and the unknown part is how you’re going to get there. Mine on the other hand has begun knowing I can do more with my life and with the skills I have but needing to clarify where the terminus lies. I’m on a journey to discover where I’m going and in writing this it’s almost therapeutic: it takes the pressure off not knowing where I’m going because I’m allowing myself to just enjoy the journey.

Charles Kettering, an American inventor once said,

“Believe and act as if it were impossible to fail”

so that’s what I must do. 2018 is for self-care, learning to be a great mother but also living with intention, gratitude and an unfailing belief that if I can dream it, I can achieve it.

What will 2018 have in store for you?
